PADDLE STEAMER KINGSWEAR CASTLE
Built in 1924 for service on the River Dart, the Paddle Steamer Kingswear Castle is owned by the Paddle Steamer Kingswear Castle Trust on behalf of the Paddle Steamer Preservation Society. The trust bought her in 1967 and, after a lengthy restoration, returned her to full passenger carrying service on the Rivers Medway and Thames in 1985 where she continued to operate until 2012. Further major restoration followed during this period, including the installation of a new coal-fired boiler.
In 2013 Kingswear Castle returned to her original home waters on the River Dart on charter to the the Dartmouth Steam Railway and Riverboat Company.
